GES Secures Award-Winning Talent Anika Chowdhury at New Designers Event in London

GES, a global full-service provider for live events, has awarded a talented design graduate a full-time job as part of the New Designers competition.

Held at the London Design Centre, New Designers celebrates the future of design, with 3,000 graduate designers presenting their work during the two-week long exhibition.

As sponsors of the Exhibit and Events Prize, GES has offered one lucky winner, Anika Chowdhury, a junior designer position in its studio in Sheffield which is the epicentre of the company’s most exciting and ground-breaking creative and design work.

The 21-year-old Coventry University graduate designed a ‘Creative Coworking Economy’ - a hybrid co-working hub which brings art and design graduates together from diverse industries and cultures to collaborate and network with professionals in the design industry. The hub includes professional art studios, work hubs with different privacy levels, open plan co-working spaces and meeting rooms.

Mark Sykes, executive creative director at GES and head judge of the award, explained: “Amazing, is the word I would use to describe the quality of design graduates at New Designers this year. Anika not only demonstrated exceptional design skills, comprehensive understanding of the design process but also a passion and enthusiasm that was contagious, a well-deserved winner.

“Our industry is constantly changing and evolving, New Designers graduates bring a breath of fresh air and energy to our growing business.” Anika added: “Winning such a prestigious award at New Designers is my proudest achievement to-date. I have made my lecturers, family and Coventry University proud all thanks to the lovely team at GES who chose me for the award out of 3,000 talented graduates. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my lecturers and their constant support. Hard work really does pay off!

“I’m super excited to contribute to the exhibitions industry when I start the job. I couldn’t think of a better company to work for and develop as a designer. I hope to be a great employee for GES and give back to the company for all the recognition they have given me.”
