CEIR Becomes Research Division of IAEE
12/17/2024
LOS ANGELES – The International Association of Exhibitions and Events® (IAEE) announced today the strategic integration of the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) as an official research division within IAEE. This development reflects IAEE’s continued commitment to delivering unparalleled insights and resources to support the global exhibitions and events industry.

As the preeminent source for exhibitions and events data and analysis, CEIR’s legacy of thought leadership and innovation will now be amplified through IAEE’s global platform. By aligning CEIR’s research initiatives with IAEE’s strategic goals, this integration promises to drive deeper understanding of industry trends, offer enhanced resources for members, and further solidify IAEE’s position as a leader in advancing the exhibitions and events profession.

“Bringing CEIR under IAEE’s umbrella marks a pivotal moment for our organization and the industry,” said 2025 CEIR Chairperson Brian Pagel, Executive Vice President, Emerald X. “This partnership ensures CEIR’s vital research will continue to thrive and be leveraged to inform critical decisions for the benefit of all stakeholders.”

“This integration strengthens our ability to serve the global exhibitions and events community,” added 2025 IAEE Chairperson Chuck Grouzard, Executive Vice President, Business Development, GES. “CEIR’s data-driven approach perfectly complements IAEE’s mission to connect, educate, and empower professionals worldwide.”

Under this new structure, CEIR will maintain its dedication to producing high-quality, actionable research while benefiting from IAEE’s extensive network and resources. The research division will continue to focus on areas such as industry performance metrics, attendee behavior, and emerging trends, ensuring that stakeholders remain equipped to navigate a rapidly evolving landscape.

“CEIR has always been at the forefront of understanding our industry,” said IAEE President and CEO Marsha Flanagan, M.Ed., CEM. “This integration represents an exciting evolution, bringing greater alignment and synergy between two vital organizations. Together, we are well-positioned to foster growth, innovation, and resilience in the face of change.”

“The exhibitions and events industry is evolving rapidly, and data-driven insights are essential for navigating these changes,” said CEIR Vice President of Research Nancy Drapeau, IPC. “Our research continues to shed light on emerging trends and critical benchmarks, equipping industry professionals with the tools they need to innovate and succeed in a competitive landscape.”

IAEE members and industry professionals can expect seamless access to CEIR’s renowned research products and new opportunities for collaboration as this integration takes effect.

The announcement was made during Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition 2024 in Los Angeles, Calif.
