UniGroup Earns EcoVadis Bronze Medal for its Sustainability Initiatives
9/19/2022
ST. LOUIS – UniGroup, the parent company of United Van Lines and Mayflower Transit, was recently awarded a bronze sustainability rating from EcoVadis, a global sustainability rating provider. EcoVadis is a trusted partner of business sustainability ratings and has been utilized by a network of more than 90,000 rated companies. It is the world’s largest provider of ratings in environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Environmental, social, and ethical performance – or sustainability – is essential for exceptional business practices today. “Our sustainability plan is built on a holistic approach, dedicated to improving the environmental, social and governance capabilities needed to sustainably move our enterprise forward,” UniGroup President and CEO Jason Mills said. “While we saw admirable results within the labor and human rights and ethics evaluations, we are not yet satisfied. We are committed to allocating additional resources to support our sustainability initiatives in 2023 and beyond.” UniGroup’s bronze rating places the organization among the top 50% of companies assessed. UniGroup scored high in categories like labor and human rights and ethics. One of the significant benefits to the EcoVadis assessment is the improvement report and reformatory plan it provides so companies, like UniGroup, can continue to build on its sustainability efforts. The UniGroup cooperative is committed to moving sustainability forward now and into the future as it continues to focus on people, community, safety and the environment. About UniGroup UniGroup is a $1.5 billion transportation and relocation services company with headquarters in suburban St. Louis. In addition to household goods carriers United Van Lines and Mayflower Transit, logistics company UniGroup Logistics and international relocation provider UniGroup Worldwide Moving, UniGroup owns other subsidiaries providing goods and services to professional movers.
