Grand Sierra Resort and Casino hires Bryan Gay as VP of Sales, Conventions And Meetings

Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) in Reno, Nev. recently welcomed seasoned sales and meetings professional Bryan Gay as vice president of sales, conventions and meetings. GSR is the largest resort and gaming destination in the Pacific Northwest with 2,000 rooms and 200,000 square feet of meeting and convention space. With more than 25 years in the hospitality industry, Bryan will lead GSR’s sales team, convention services and catering.

“Bryan is a tremendous talent with a proven track record in leadership, meeting and convention services and sales, marketing and more,” said Tracy Mimno, president and chief operating officer at GSR. “We are thrilled to have Bryan join our team as we continue to create a world-class resort destination for travelers and convention-goers alike.

Bryan has filled many sales and senior executive roles at some of the top resorts in the industry including Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and THEhotel, The Mirage, Caesars Palace and Treasure Island specializing in leadership, sales, convention services, catering, marketing, employee engagement and relations, customer service and relations, training and development, diversity and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

As vice president of sales at The Mirage, Bryan oversaw all operations of sales (convention and leisure), convention services, catering, audio-visual, and banquet teams including annual budgets, setting goals, Convention Area Green Key initiatives as well as convention and leisure marketing. Similarly, at Mandalay Bay Resort and THEhotel, Bryan was responsible for executive leadership for sales and convention marketing efforts for a combined room count of 4,300 and the fifth largest convention center in the U.S. The team also supported selling multiple properties in the MGM Resort International portfolio.

Most recently, Bryan had help start a company that focused on revolutionizing the downtown Las Vegas meetings industry by promoting to multiple tradeshow and association events creating interest into the area to stimulate the economy.
