The International School of Hospitality Unveils Special Events Design Lab in Las Vegas

The International School of Hospitality (TISOH) this month unveils its singular, state-of-the-art special events design lab. This innovative element of the newly expanded and renovated campus is an ever-changing special events space, featuring the latest in event décor and lighting. Lenny Talarico, Director of Events at MGM Resort Event Productions, generously agreed to oversee creative designs for the lab throughout the year.

“This is an extraordinary resource for our students,” said TISOH Executive Director Timothy M. Lam. “This provides them a real-world experience, where they can learn from the best in the business how to effectively create and design world-class meetings and events.”

The initial design lab roomscape features donations from MGM Resorts Event Productions, Chameleon Chair, Classic Party Rentals, kool Party Rentals, Creative Coverings and Earth Water Sky. Their participation is a testament to their commitment to high quality education and training for future hospitality professionals.

In the 10 years since its founding, The International School of Hospitality has seen growing demand for its programs as industry leaders seek qualified hospitality professionals locally, nationally and globally. Las Vegas Conventions and Visitor Authority officials project continued growth in the meetings and conventions sector, anticipating 1,678 meetings and conventions for 2015, an 8.4 percent uptick from 2014.

To ensure TISOH graduates are prepared for launching or advancing successful hospitality careers, the school provides cutting-edge resources. TISOH students learn directly from industry professionals and hands-on experience.
