A Message from Kimberley Gishler
Is it really almost the end of 2024? It's sometimes astonishing how time flies. In moments like these, when time feels like it's speeding along much too quickly, I often find myself reflecting on my journey so far and anticipating what lies ahead. And our industry as a whole must do the same to remain the forward-thinking and cutting-edge business we know and love. So in this issue, we did some deep research into what lies ahead for events: Gen Z. As the mother of a 25-year-old boy (yes, I can still call him a boy), I feel uniquely qualified to speak on this topic with genuine insight.

Here's what I've observed about this generation: Technology reigns supreme. They want their information in bite-sized pieces. They are experience enthusiasts who value memorable moments over material possessions. They do exhaustive research before making decisions. Impatience is their virtue, and they are savvy.

In the coming months, expect to see a renewed focus on delivering high-quality content that is both informative and actionable. We will feature in-depth articles, expert interviews, case studies, award winners, and the latest industry news. Our goal, as always, is to provide you with the tools and knowledge you need to stay ahead in this dynamic field.

As a parent, I respect these traits. However, as an events professional, I know that this generation's unique contributions present unique challenges. And it's exciting to watch event marketers adapt their strategies to address the needs of this new generation. They're bringing more personalization and interactivity to events while keeping sustainability and niche marketing top of mind.

As we approach 2025, the events industry will continue to evolve to cater to the needs of multiple generations, each of which consumes information differently. We must embrace technological innovation while maintaining the human touch that makes live experiences irreplaceable. By understanding, adapting to, and learning from our generational differences, we can create events that resonate with attendees of all ages.

I'm looking forward to what our industry holds for us in the coming months. Here's to another year of unforgettable experiences! E
