Buyers Choice Awards
And the Winners Are...
Six 2017 New Product Showcase entries earned coveted Buyers Choice Awards at EXHIBITORLIVE, held March 12 – 16 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Winners were chosen by a panel of attendee judges from a pool of nearly 50 new products all making their U.S. trade show debuts at EXHIBITORLIVE. This year's winners represent the latest and greatest innovations for the exhibition and event industry.
1.8mm LED Tile
Ultra-high resolution LED products are at the top of many exhibit marketers' wish lists, but those looking for rentals are often left with less than cutting-edge equipment. Thankfully 4 Productions LLC has introduced the first LED tile with a pixel pitch of just 1.8mm geared specifically for the rental market ‐ addressing a common exhibitor pain point that resonated with Buyers Choice Awards judges. Each tile measures slightly less than 18-by-18 inches, weighs approximately 21 pounds, and is finished with a seamless, die-cast aluminum frame for long-lasting durability. In addition to allowing users to scan badges, barcodes, and business cards, the app includes a Showroom feature that enables staffers to display a company's entire library of product literature and email pieces directly to attendees. Contact info for top prospects can be forwarded to sales reps for immediate follow-up, and simple, customizable menus make the system easy to learn and use. "This literally has everything you need," said one Buyers Choice Awards judge. Simple, physical objects called VR Vue Sculptures come to life for users wearing the VR headset. As guests walk around the sculpture, their view of the virtual model changes in kind. Users can interact with the sculpture, as a wave of a hand or the touch of a finger can prompt virtual content highlighting the product's features. The VR Vue system also lets bystanders get in on the action without a headset via the optional VR Vue-r tablet stand. Featuring an embedded 55-inch touchscreen with 55 distinct touch points, a viewing angle of 178 degrees, and ultra-HD resolution, this powerhouse of a table also boasts an onboard i7 computer for nearly endless software applications and multiuser experiences. "I love that multiple people can use this at the same time," said one Buyers Choice Awards judge. "Plus it doesn't take up much space in the booth. It really offers a lot for its footprint." Also noteworthy: The unit's hydraulic legs allow it to quickly go from the height of a coffee table to a regular conference table, greatly adding to both its versatility and practicality. Take the Kaon AR, which leverages Google's Tango technology platform to combine virtual 3-D objects with real-world environments. Using a Tango-enabled device, such as the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro smartphone, attendees can place a virtual product model in various locations in the physical booth, walk around the model (thanks to stereoscopic cameras and sensors that track a user's position relative to the digital object), and explore product features via the device's touchscreen. Contact: Kaon Interactive, Maynard, MA, 978-823-0111, www.kaon.com 3D LED The 3D LED screen from Haverford Systems offers numerous advantages over traditional 3-D projection systems, including increased brightness (the screen is bright enough to be used in full light), higher contrast, greater color purity, and little to no spatial requirement in front of the screen, allowing attendees to get up close and personal with your content. And unlike virtual-reality systems that are often restricted to one or two users, 3D LED screens, which have minimum dimensions of roughly 10-by-18 feet, allow a room full of attendees and prospects to share in the 3-D experience. "The larger a group that can participate in an experience at the same time, the greater an exhibitor's return on investment will be," said one Buyers Choice Awards judge.
