rawing inspiration from Greek goddesses and modern fashion designer Jason Wu, Brizo, a designer division of Delta Faucet Co., markets its products as more of a lifestyle statement than a faucet purchase. To exude that blend of ethereal grace and fashion-forward style at the 2013 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, the company created an oasis on the show floor where vignettes and goddesses mingled in a space as rich with form as it was with function.
Front and center in the 40-by-60-foot exhibit, a four-tiered water feature bubbled like a refreshing well spring, spotlighting Brizo's new line of tub fillers that were flowing water into gleaming white basins atop pedestals. Designed and fabricated with the help of Centerpoint and Birch & Associates, the structure spilled water from one round basin to the next, with hidden piping recirculating it back to the top for a continuous flow. Above each spout on the fountain, strands of clear beads cascaded from a ring 16 feet high, shimmering like giant streams of water descending from the heavens.
Rimming the center of the exhibit, home environments seemingly sliced into thin strips contained vignettes of product lines as one might incorporate them in their own kitchen or bath, each replete with its own lighting, fixtures, and Brizo accoutrements. In the center of the exhibit behind the water feature, dramatic backlighting illuminated two long counters where attendees could find iPads that linked to product information, and a looping video monitor nearby aired conversations and cooking lessons that highlighted Brizo's cutting-edge faucet technology.
Directional lighting was suspended from an overhead truss to emphasize exhibit features and hanging fabric graphics done in mesmerizing watercolor and ink designs. Each depicted flowing, goddess-inspired women seeming to peer down from their celestial perches to the display below, no doubt gazing with favor on the earthly tribute that had taken shape beneath them.
