2025 Marks a Year of Celebration in Nashville with New Properties, Events, Restaurants and the 100th Anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry
9/18/2024
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – As the calendar turns to 2025, Music City celebrates anniversaries, new developments, grand openings and more. From new hotel properties and restaurants to the expansion of vibrant neighborhoods, visitors will enjoy new experiences throughout Nashville in the coming year.

The Grand Ole Opry Celebrates 100 Years

The Grand Ole Opry will celebrate its 100th anniversary as the world’s longest-running radio program. The Grand Ole Opry, which has become a global phenomenon, has played host legendary performers such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Hank Willams, and today’s top artists such as Luke Combs, Post Malone, Lainey Wilson, Carrie Underwood and Darius Rucker. In celebration of this iconic anniversary, the Grand Ole Opry will have more shows on their calendar than ever before in 2025, giving visitors more opportunities to see a performance live and in person all year long. Be on the lookout for special announcements and celebrations surrounding the 100th anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry in the months to come.

Expansions to Downtown

Nashville Yards, the city’s new gateway to downtown, features a 19-acre mixed-use area that will open in 2025. The campus will be anchored by The Pinnacle, a 4,500-capacity music venue, operated by AEG, which will host its first event in March. Nashville Yards will offer more than 350,000 feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space—including an upscale 12-screen cinema and a 1.31-acre green space with a dog park, pickleball courts, courtyard seating and urban farming.

Following a period of extensive renovations over the past two years, The Nashville Arcade, a historic treasure that opened in 1902 as the city’s first shopping center, is slated to re-open to the public in early 2025. An authentic, urban-scale destination bringing over 30 unique restaurant, bar, and retail concepts to the heart of Music City's downtown, The Arcade will showcase local favorites including Urban Cowboy, Roze Pony, Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge, and Ugly Bagel, among other food and beverage and soft goods retail offerings. The Arcade Arts Program will anchor a large portion of the building’s second floor and will offer year-round programming and events from local artists and galleries in the city's dynamic creative scene.

More Milestones in Nashville

Belcourt Theatre, located in Hillsboro Village, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2025. Once home to the Grand Ole Opry from 1934-1936, it is one of the most historic arthouse cinemas in the United States.

Nashville’s Adventure Science Center will celebrate its 80th anniversary. Originally named, The Children's Museum of Nashville, the venue opened Oct. 31, 1945. Today, the Adventure Science Center welcomes over 200,000 visitors annually and has award-winning programs, workshops, camps and more. The center also features the Sudekum Planetarium, a state-of-the-art digital projection with surround sound to present programs on a wide range of sciences, history, and culture and laser shows.

Cheekwood Estate and Gardens will celebrate its 65th anniversary. Built-in the 1930s, this estate is a 55-acre historic site with a mansion, spectacular garden, and world-class art on site. The residence is 30,000 square feet and includes a botanical garden and art museum. The garden is filled with a variety of blooms and foliage for visitors to take in the natural beauty throughout the year at this historic landscape.

Nashville’s Greek Goddess Athena, the tallest indoor statue in the Western Hemisphere at 42 feet in the Parthenon at Centennial Park, will celebrate her 35th anniversary in 2025. The Parthenon—a full-scale replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece—will have a special exhibition in its East Gallery opening in June. In addition to educational programming, the exhibition will include colossal scale images, placards, quotes and many items from sculptor Alan LeQuire’s studio highlighting the 8-year process to build the statue. More exciting plans surrounding the anniversary of Athena’s statue will be released soon.

New Developments in Music City

Rutledge Hill Culinary District, a three-tower project less than a mile from Lower Broadway, will feature multiple hotels, a 97,500-square-foot retail village anchored by a central marketplace with a farmer's market, retail and entertainment options, along with residential space.

Nashville’s vibrant 12 South neighborhood will see the completion of its newest development, Ashwood 12 South, a 116,000-square-foot mixed-use space that will feature retail and dining options.

Paseo South Gulch reaches a new phase in 2025. Sitting in the heart of The Gulch, the project combines historic properties with stunning new developments. This area is now home to well-known attractions such as Carter Vintage Guitar, Maiz de la Vida Restaurant, Two Hands and Barista Parlor. This area will also be home to The Patterson House, and The Catbird Seat in the calendar year.

Music City will open its first-ever Chinatown in the upcoming year in Antioch, just south of downtown. The project will include an Asian supermarket, authentic restaurants, and shops.
