LVCVA Board of Directors Issues Air Service Development Update

LAS VEGAS - Growing air service in emerging markets is a key element of driving visitation to Las Vegas. The LVCVA partners with Harry Reid International Airport and Ailevon Pacific Aviation Consulting (APAC) to develop new and increased air service to Las Vegas from domestic and international markets. APAC presented an airline development update to the Board, which outlined the various ways air service development hit new highs during fiscal year 2023.

Record capacity arriving in Las Vegas with 34.1 million seats
Record number of cities connected to Las Vegas with 161 nonstop routes
Record number of airlines serving Las Vegas with 35 airlines, including five new airlines that started or announced new service
Of the 25 largest airports in the U.S., Harry Reid International Airport had the most capacity growth; the 17 percent growth also puts Las Vegas as number one in the world
Las Vegas added 37 new nonstop domestic routes, 21 of which were from previously unserved markets
Ten new international markets were announced or started by seven different airlines flying to Las Vegas from Canada, Europe, Central America and Mexico

Additionally, more growth is on the horizon. Next month will set a new all-time high for monthly inbound capacity and 2023 is expected to hit a new annual record. International capacity, which is approximately 80 percent recovered, is expected to be over 90 percent recovered by the end of the year.

The Board of Directors also approved a $386,000 investment for LVCVA’s participation in Routes World 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey in October. During this premiere tradeshow, key decision makers from airlines, airports and destinations unite to determine the world’s air service.
