HCEA Update Pertaining to COVID-I9 Coronavirus

HCEA is committed to creating better trade show and event outcomes within the healthcare space. We realize that the global implications pertaining to COVID-19 have dramatically impacted our industry on many levels, especially when it comes to the science behind social distancing and the very real implications of evolving business priorities, closed venues and travel restrictions. Now more than ever, we must stand in support of one another. However, if we are to control the spread of this global pandemic and ensure healthcare resources continue to be available to the patients who need them most, we must all do our part.

In that light, we stand beside EXHIBITORLIVE in its decision to postpone its annual industry event, with which our Spring event, HCEAInnovate, is co-located. We fully intend to open HCEAInnovate alongside EXHIBITORLIVE at a future date.

As EXHIBITORLIVE has stated, the intention is to reschedule this well-received event to a date in the fall when our priorities return to business as usual. As any in this industry know, this is a massive undertaking and many details must be addressed to make this move successful. Rest assured that HCEA will work closely with EXHIBITORLIVE and our HCEAInnovate committee to keep you informed when those details are available.

HCEA respects its longstanding relationship with EXHIBITORLIVE and the extended value our shared presence affords companies engaging healthcare professionals and patients through medical congresses, conferences and similar events.

How to Maintain Your Learning While Waiting?

We realize the critical role that HCEAInnovate plays in improving experiences and outcomes for trade show professionals. HCEA President Jeannie Wert, Dir., Exhibit Management, North America for Siemens Healthineers, offers this advice to those looking to maintain or improve their education outside these events:

Please remember that the HCEA website (www.hcea.org) includes a Knowledge Center that allows members at all experience levels to access a plethora of valuable tools to empower their learning and success. We feature a Resource Information Center stocked with hand-picked templates, models and research samples to save you time, research and whitepapers sharing the latest learnings in the field, HCEA guidelines and best practices for industry success, and links to important healthcare codes, regulations and guidelines. While much content is exclusive to HCEA members, some information is also available to the general public as well.

Wert’s advice to those impacted by COVID-19?

This is a difficult time, and many are facing unprecedented challenges in their professional roles. Social distancing is one of the most effective ways we can contain this disease. Please remember that trade shows and events offer an unparalleled opportunity to build relationships that is simply not possible with any other channel. We will make it through this time together – and we look forward to reuniting later this year at EXHIBITORLIVE and HCEAInnovate.

HCEAConnect is our flagship fall conference and HCEA’s largest face-to-face event planned for 2020.
