Located in the heart of Washington, DC's entertainment district with its Michelin-star restaurants, five-star hotels, stylish shopping, live sports and concerts and hottest lounges, the award-winning Walter E. Washington Convention Center features grand staircases, lofty ceilings, natural lighting and modern finishes, looking as fresh as when it opened in 2003. The walls are adorned with a 130-piece multi-million dollar art collection -the largest collection of any convention center.
The convention center completed a $16.5 million renovation of its food service and retail outlets,
including a 17,000 square foot flexible-use Downtown Dining District catering space. With the iconic Ben's Chili Bowl located beside Hall D attendees experience the flavors and culture of the nation's capital.
In addition to its sanitization and air purification innovations, the center was the first convention center in the Northeast to achieve GBAC-Star Certification, which we have maintained as our commitment to maintaining the health and safety of our guests and staff. In 2022, the center became the first convention center in the world to earn WELL Health-Safety certification; and in 2023 the Center received LEED Gold certification.
