The keystone of the District of Columbia’s downtown renaissance, the 2.3-million-square-foot Walter E. Washington Convention Center is home to conventions, trade shows, and events of every kind, from pop culture expos to professional conventions to summit meetings of world leaders. A 2023 Stella Award finalist for Best Convention Center in the Northeast US, the venue is just steps away from Michelin-star restaurants, 5-star hotels, stylish shopping, and live sports. In partnership with Aramark, the center has completed a $16.5 million investment in its food service operations, including a new 17,000-square-foot flexible-use catering space known as Downtown Dining District, adding unique DC favorites such as Ben’s Chili Bowl, Shop Made in DC, and City-State Brewing Company. Keeping a laser focus on health and safety, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center is also the first WELL Health-Safety Rated convention center in the world, and the first GBAC STAR-certified convention center in the Northeast Corridor.
