Global Frameworks: Exhibiting within the Context of Culture - Part I
90 Minute Session

This is a two part session.

Understanding national culture is key to creating successful international trade show experiences, but neglecting subtle nuances in cross-cultural interactions can damage relationships and nullify efforts. Recognizing that trade shows are conducted within “the context of culture” can help you see things from a totally different perspective. As we identify and explore the dimensions of national culture, we will share practical insights to help build bridges across cultural divides and better connect target audiences. Some of what we will explore includes:

•	Ethnocentricity vs. cultural context

•	Cultural intelligence

•	Personal identity: individualism vs. collectivism

•	Authority and power

•	Perspectives on time

Jeff Hannah, vice president of strategy, Exhibit Concepts
Jeff Hannah, VP of Strategy for Exhibit Concepts, is an expert in the global trade show industry. He podcasts, consults, writes, and speaks about cross-cultural and trade show differences. Having founded companies in the UK, UAE and the USA, he has produced branded environments in over 50 countries for many of the world's top brands. He hosts The Global Exhibitor Podcast, and blogs at www.GlobalExhibitor.com. Hannah holds a BS in Industrial Design from Georgia Tech.
