10/1/2024
The International Federation of Exhibition Services (IFES) is excited to announce the upcoming MasterClass 2024 - Europe, which will be held in Athens, Greece, from November 6-8, 2024. In a strategic collaboration with the Greek Meetings Alliance (GMA), this event is set to provide exhibition and meetings professionals with the insights, tools, and strategies needed to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving global marketplace.

The partnership between IFES and the GMA represents a shared commitment to fostering knowledge exchange, industry collaboration, and the promotion of best practices. This collaboration opens up significant opportunities not only for global participants but also for local professionals to connect with international peers, expand their networks, and bring the latest global trends and innovations into the Greek exhibition and meetings industry.

MasterClass 2024 - Europe will focus on the theme "Innovate & Communicate: AI Tools and Intercultural Strategies," providing practical guidance on navigating intercultural communication, leveraging AI to enhance creativity, and developing a deeper understanding of global business dynamics.

Key topics covered will include:
  • Master Diverse Communication: Refine your communication style to effectively navigate cultural and interpersonal differences, fostering stronger connections across diverse settings.
  • Resolve Conflicts with Confidence: Learn advanced strategies for conflict resolution and adaptation to overcome challenges in both personal and professional environments.
  • Boost Exhibition Success: Discover how well-trained booth staff and boothmanship techniques can significantly improve visitor engagement and drive business results.
  • Harness Creativity through AI and Neuroscience: Explore how AI tools and neuroscience insights can elevate storytelling and unleash new levels of creative potential.

  • Collaborate for Event Success: Build dynamic partnerships and enhance teamwork to ensure more successful and impactful events.
This dynamic two-day event will be held at Stratos Vassilikos Hotel in Athens, providing a prime location for local and international participants to network, share experiences, and learn from leading experts in the industry. Attendees will benefit from insights shared by a distinguished panel of speakers, including the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau, Lee Ali, founder of Expo Stars Interactive; Han Leenhouts, exhibition and sales trainer at Sales and Pepper; Marc Lauckhardt, Creative Director at Holtmann+; Sissy Lignou, President & CEO of AFEA Congress, President Elect of IAPCO, and President of HAPCO & DES; and keynote speaker Dr. Kyriakopoulos, Professor of Strategy and Marketing at Alba Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece.

Holding this MasterClass in collaboration with the Greek Meetings Alliance is a significant step in strengthening the Greek exhibition and meetings sector. Local participants will have the unique opportunity to gain exposure to global trends and best practices, while engaging directly with industry leaders and expanding their influence in the international arena. At the same time, global attendees will benefit from Greece's rich history as a meetings destination, its vibrant local industry, and the expertise of local professionals who are making significant strides in the international market.

"Innovation, communication, and the fostering of intercultural relationships are essential for the growth of our industry," says Steve Riches, outgoing Chair of IFES Education committee & incoming Vice-President of IFES Strategy. “As the educational committee of IFES, we are firmly forward focused and dedicated to empowering our members with the skills required to meet the future needs of our clients. We take on the role of 'international arm' for some of our partner organisations and believe that in-depth exchanges on international trends and global challenges are incredibly beneficial for both parties.”

Participants of MasterClass 2024 - Europe will also gain practical experience on doing business in international markets, expand their professional skillsets, and enhance their ability to engage with both live and virtual audiences. In collaboration with IFES and the GMA, this MasterClass promises to be an exceptional learning and networking opportunity for all attendees.
