Cradled against the jagged, snow-capped backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains, the newly
built Utah Valley Convention Center (UVCC) weaves state-of-the-art style into historic downtown Provo. Christened this past May, the convention center boasts 84,000 square feet of combined meeting, event, and prefunction space, including 19,600 square feet
of contiguous exhibit halls and another 16,900 square feet of ballrooms - each with
dividers to meet varying facility needs. Expansive glass walls on this Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified building show off the dramatic vista, and
a 5,500-square-foot rooftop garden beckons visitors to enjoy the unmatched view.

WHERE TO SLEEP
The Provo Marriott Hotel and Conference Center with 330 rooms is adjacent to the venue, and more than 1,300 hotel rooms at a wide range of price-points are available within a two-mile radius. Many hotels offer free shuttle service to the convention center, entertainment, and dining. Neighboring Orem, UT, is within five
miles of the venue and offers numerous hotels. |
WHAT TO EAT
The Center Street Café, which is inside the facility, serves breakfast and lunch on weekdays. A short walk away, Sparks Restaurant is a casual, cosmopolitan eatery for client dinners or trendy small receptions. For a uniquely Provo bite to eat, take a cab to J-Dawgs, a legendary hot-dog stand known for dogs so good that lines often stretch down the sidewalk. |
HOW TO GET THERE
Provo is 45 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport by car, though a commuter rail line connecting the two cities is expected to be completed by the end of 2012 (www.rideuta.com). Round-trip shuttle service between Salt Lake City and Provo is $66, with charter vans available for $186 (www.xpressshuttleutah.com). The Provo Airport is serviced by Frontier Airlines (www.flyprovo.com). |

There are no union requirements at the UVCC, meaning exhibitors may set up their own displays or hire contractors to do so. Exhibitors may also hire venue staff to assist them. However, exhibit-related rigging must go through the venue's audiovisual department, and all in-booth electrical requirements must be arranged through UVCC engineers.
Exhibitors are required
to use in-house catering and concessions for all food service needs, and no outside food of any kind may be brought into the facility.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the venue. Exhibitors requiring additional Internet services may order them through the UVCC.
The Chef's Table is a good choice for upscale client dinners and off-site receptions. Groups of up to 45 people can be accommodated in the restaurant's private dining areas.
The facility does not currently have a business center, though one
is planned for the future. Graphics and printing needs can be serviced by a variety
of local businesses.
Audiovisual equipment and rental furniture are available through the facility, but furniture may only be ordered if the UVCC is the show decorator.
