Music City Center
Spread across 16 acres in Nashville, TN, Music City Center is an architectural showpiece that, in its avant-garde design, invokes the spirit of Music City itself as well as the gentle hills of Tennessee. Crafted with 150-foot-tall windows and the hint of a guitar's curves throughout, the venue boasts more than 350,000 square feet of exhibit space as well as two ballrooms, three board rooms, 60 meeting rooms, outdoor terraces that offer sweeping views of the city skyline, and a $2 million art collection featuring more than 100 pieces. Its green roof studded with solar panels, four acres of rain gardens, and a massive water-collection system undulates across the campus like the Appalachian foothills in the distance.
WHERE TO SLEEP
Nashville has more than 38,000 hotel rooms, and many are within walking distance of the MCC. Its hotels rank among the country's most expensive, and lodging in downtown goes for a premium. For a luxurious experience only a block away, check out The Joseph and its collection of art. For more economical options, look outside the city center.
WHAT TO EAT
MCC offers on-site grub at its Fresh Pick Market & Café as well as Al Taglio, a Roman-style pizzeria. Consider noshing from one of the food trucks on the street for lunch. Wow clients with an exquisite meal at Kayne Prime, a boutique steakhouse with private dining options and a long list of awards.
HOW TO GET THERE
The Nashville International Airport is 8 miles from the convention center, and taxi service is available for a flat fee of $25. Rideshare apps will run just under $30. Multiple shuttle carriers with varying prices are available from the airport to downtown Nashville (www.flynashville.com). The MCC has parking facilities for 1,800 vehicles, and it costs about $20 for 9 to 12 hours. MCC has a GBAC Star accreditation and is LEED Gold Certified. Tennessee is a “right to work” state, meaning exhibitors are not required to use venue labor for certain work. MCC has a full-service business center that provides shipping, mailing, and copying services and specializes in digital distribution and business printing. Helium balloons and adhesive-backed decals (except for nametags) may not be distributed or used inside the building. Confetti, glitter, and rice are prohibited without prior approval. The MCC has exclusive providers for electrical, telecommunications and internet, catering, and rigging. MCC employees may not accept gratuities or gifts. Two private nursing lounges are available at the venue.
