Designed and crafted by EDE Corp., this 40-by-100-foot exhibit featured a dramatic, black-fabric exterior that bore the MHS logo and the firm's "Above + Beyond" tagline. However, chances are attendees' eyes went straight to a spectacular kinetic sculpture over the main entrance. Its myriad light bars raised, lowered, tilted, and morphed between hues to create a dazzling display that entranced visitors and judges alike. "I've seen plenty of light elements," one juror remarked. "But this one provided the perfect mix of positioning, movement, and magnetism to create a killer impact."
      Theater Tech
To generate awareness for Material Handling Systems Inc., designers devised a dramatic black-box exhibit. Inside, visitors discovered six interactive zones to highlight MHS' products. All told, the encounter offered both sizzle and substance.
Within the interior, visitors discovered six interactive zones. At the Research and Development area, a digitized version of the shell game, where participants guess the location of a hidden ball, showcased MHS' logistical solutions. "Rather than staff distributing prizes," says Donald Seilheimer, account executive at EDE, "an autonomous robot delivered them to recipients, thereby demonstrating the firm's precision automated solutions."

At the Software and Controls zone, designers leveraged MHS' software platform to craft an engaging drink-order activation. After exploring this technology, attendees placed orders via touchscreen and then collected their beverages at the hospitality bar tucked under a central double-deck structure whose.

Four additional zones rounded out the environment. Within them, designers employed everything from interactive touchscreen maps to translucent monitors and lighting, which showed logistical plans and overlaid key points of interest. Blending a theatrical light display, the exhibitor's automated offerings, and an enticing black-fabric wrap, the design certainly met MHS' marketing directives. But it also moved the needle off shoe-leather sexy and pointed it more toward Siren-level sensuality. E
