Virtually Amazing
Virtual reality is a hot trend in trade show displays, but exhibitors wanting to use the technology in their exhibits need to first overcome the hurdle of translating their goods or services into engaging virtual content. Inhance Digital has prepared a showcase of virtual-reality solutions to help exhibitors visualize how they might harness the platform for themselves to convey key product messages. Go with the Flow
Having an app custom designed can cost a pretty penny, and using build-your-own platforms can limit an app's design and capabilities. FlowVella blends the best of both worlds. A dozen templates are available to guide users through the design process, during which they can add links and navigation, interactive presentations, embedded or streaming video, photo galleries, and PDF documents. The product is fully functional as a stand-alone iPad app offline, though it also works with the cloud. Built-in analytics allow managers to review who saw which slides, and even where they stopped viewing a presentation, and each presentation has a custom URL that allows exhibitors to share it with the recipients of their choice. Getting High
Ratchet up the wow factor of a corporate event with orbs that float overhead, each filled with branding or special effects and programmed with choreography that will leave an audience spellbound. AirOrbs by Airstage are radio controlled, helium based, and safe to use above an indoor audience thanks to their light weight and patented soft propeller. The AirOrbs can be piloted manually or via preprogrammed routines. Branding messages can be imprinted on them, lightweight pieces can be added inside them, and depending on the aerodynamic details, the orbs can be shaped into a variety of forms and styles. Fully programmed RGB LED lighting can add myriad special effects to the appearance of the orbs. Contact: Airstage, Stuttgart, Germany, 34-971-641-281, www.airstage.de
All Shapes and Sizes
There is no limit to the number of looks you can create in your booth when you use Custom Shape Mats. The nylon, two-ply twist carpet used for mats is 0.25-inch thick with a rubber backing that keeps them in place. Flame and slip resistant, the product can be cut into various shapes and sizes up to 3-by-4 feet or 18 inches wide by 23 feet long. A four-color printing process makes any design possible, and the durable mats are guaranteed for life by The Inside Track Inc. Diffusing the Situation
Adding backlighting to translucent surfaces is a great way to boost pizazz in a display, but the technology can be expensive and difficult to modify for custom applications. However, Bright Light Sheets from Outwater Plastics Industries Inc. are an economical solution for do-it-yourself backlighting, as they come in 4-by-25-foot rolls that can be cut to any size or shape. The product, which is designed to be used with Outwater's L-Task-149 Aluminum Channel and LED Ribbon Strip Lighting, diffuses LED lighting to eliminate hot spots. Bright Light Sheets are applied directly to the glass or acrylic using a low-tack adhesive. Pieces can be removed and repositioned easily with no residue or damage on the panels they are applied to. Brilliant Coverup
If you want to give your exhibit a fresh look without investing in a new property, Re-Cover, a line of peel-and-stick laminates from Wilsonart LLC, has got you covered. From Western Suede to Pewter Brush to Nepal Teak, more than 340 styles are available to suit a limitless number of booth designs, and applying the product is so easy that it can be done right on the show floor. Exhibitors can also choose from a dozen surface finishes, such as high gloss, fine velvet, quarry, and more, to give them exactly the look they are after for the display. The laminates affix firmly to surfaces with pre-applied adhesive, and their low odor and fire resistance make them usable virtually anywhere.
