Industrial Chic
The phrase "what's old is new again" is particularly true when it comes to design, and the latest trend to circle back is endearingly referred to as "industrial chic." Whether this rugged aesthetic is an anti-trend spurred by one too many Apple Store-inspired spaces or an earthy answer to our otherwise digitized existence, the imperfections of these faux-old furnishings are breathing new life into dated exhibits. By Lena Hewitt
Barbary Coast Cart
The Barbary Coast Cart from Cort Event Furnishings is the epitome of industrial chic. The wooden mobile cart – which can be used as a low coffee table or decorative accent piece – features four black wheels complete with locks to prevent the furniture from rolling away. Provider: Cort Event Furnishings, www.cortevents.com

Blox Bar Back
This cubist-inspired shelving unit offers seven geometric cubbies that can be stocked with collateral literature, product samples, giveaways, and even alcohol for in-booth hospitality areas. The 86-inch-tall Blox Bar Back is made of wood with metal framing, making it well suited for any industrialthemed space. Provider: AFR Trade Show Furnishings, www.afrtradeshow.com

Marais Chair
This chair in gunmetal red adds character to any exhibit. With areas of paint that appear to have worn away, the unique piece of furniture stands out because of its subtle imperfections. Provider: Blueprint Studios, www.blueprintstudios.com

Crank Highboy
With its crank-operated adjustable table height up to 31 inches, the 30-inch round, metal Crank Highboy from FWR Rental Haus Inc. is quintessential industrial chic. Pair it with upholstered pieces to add a hard edge, or set it next to wood chairs for a sleek metallic accent. Provider: FWR Rental Haus Inc., www.fwrental.com

Belding Floor Lamp
Beautiful in its simplicity, the Belding Floor Lamp merges sleek lines with a brushed metal base. The juxtaposition makes for an intriguing addition to any exhibit theme that leans toward the industrial end of the spectrum. Provider: Cort Event Furnishings, www.cortevents.com

Parlor Canopy
It's not every day you see a parlor canopy in an exhibit, but this one from Blueprint Studios can be used as a reception desk or conference table. Featuring a copper frame, the piece includes its own built-in illumination by way of four decanters outfitted with Edison bulbs. It pairs seamlessly with other pieces in the Museo line from Blueprint Studios. Provider: Blueprint Studios, www.blueprintstudios.com

Central Park Sofa
If you're incorporating industrial furniture into your next exhibit-seating plan, look no further than the Central Park Sofa. The 102-inch-long, rough-around-the-edges bench includes three cushions to place on top for a soft place to cop a squat. Provider: FWR Rental Haus Inc., www.fwrental.com
