Emulating a black band wrapped around a parcel, the exhibit exterior for Eduard Kronenberg GmbH engaged and enchanted attendees. Meanwhile, the red-and-white interior offered three different zones – for communication, product information, and product display. The combination offered a clean, modern aesthetic befitting the EK brand.

hat's black and white and red all over? It's this award-winning design that judges hailed as "breathtaking." Designed by Bachmann.Kern & Partner (BKP), the 43-by-26-foot beauty was born of a two-pronged objective.

Eduard Kronenberg GmbH (EK), a provider of metal stamping and processing, wanted a modern yet budget-conscious design for Glastec 2012. But it also needed three environments for attendees to obtain info, talk with staff, and handle products. Thus, designers married EK's signature black, white, and red hues with circular and angular forms to create an exhibit that judges called "simply delicious." Bathed in matte black, the exterior represented a single band wrapped around a shipping parcel. Within the red and white interior, attendees found three zones.

Supporting touchscreen monitors, nine waist-high white kiosks offered product and company information. The columnar kiosks were arranged into groups of three, each of which was outlined via a red-vinyl floor graphic. Similarly, red, inlaid carpeting defined three lounge areas, with each featuring three oval light fixtures suspended overhead, five contemporary chairs, and a white table that housed products beneath its glass top. A 12-foot-long desk at the back of the space also featured a crimson hue, marking it as another point of face-to-face interaction.

Designers maintained the exhibit's clean aesthetic by embedding EK's offerings into the walls around the desk. Additionally, a built-in 11-drawer cabinet was filled with products, and insulated windows embedded into the wall like a vertical drawer system displayed EK's products at work.

Perfectly pairing color and form, while also meeting EK's double-dip demands, BKP devised a beautiful, cost-effective booth – and a strapping success. E
