The events industry has historically been responsible for large quantities of waste to landfill and having significant carbon footprint. In the current climate, sustainable business conduct is paramount for long-term success and the preservation of the exhibitions industry. Many event organizers and their supply chain have signed the Net Zero Carbon Event pledge. More exhibitors are querying the Scope 3 emissions and carbon footprint of their exhibits and what can be done to reduce the environmental impact. Interested in being a more sustainable exhibitor? Attend this workshop and learn:
• The standards EDPA (Experiential Designers and Producers Association) and ESCA (Exhibition Services and Contractors Association) are creating
• The Events Industry Council Sustainable Event Standards for exhibit suppliers
• A case study on the carbon footprint of Maritz' exhibiting at the IMEX America show
• How to set the Boundaries of your exhibiting GHG Scope 3 emissions
• What to look for from your supply chain
• How to be a more sustainable exhibitor
• How to reduce the carbon footprint of your exhibit
As part of this workshop, you will create drafts of a Sustainability: Policy, Pledge, Plan with achievable goals, Statement of Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity, list of Scope 3 upstream and downstream boundaries and data points for a Carbon Footprint Measurement.
