Under the theme "Creating the Future from Zero Point of Civilizations," the Turkey Pavilion was designed to reflect the unique history of Anatolia, the birthplace of civilization, while conveying a sense of respect for nature and conveying the sustainability goals of Turkey.
The design of the pavilion was inspired by "Göbeklitepe," which is described as the "zero point of history" as it is the oldest known collection of cult buildings in the world. Inside, the pavilion aims to reflect Turkey’s view of the future and celebrate its contribution to the world of the future by telling visitors about the magnificent history of the Anatolian, which stands as a witness to human history.
In addition to promoting the production power and rich natural resources of Turkey, displays represent the country’s leading products from sectors such as automotive, education, health, jewelry, logistics, electronics, machinery, apparel and textile, natural stone, cosmetics, agriculture, and food. Those displays reflect the seven regions that make up the nation of Turkey.
Through this pavilion, Turkey has followed the primary tenet of Expo 2020’s focus on sustainability. During one activity, guests are invited to play a game using a touchscreen that further underscores the concepts of sustainability, prevention of environmental pollution, and recycling. The game not only entertains guests but also raises awareness of these concerns, specifically among the pavilion’s youngest visitors. Digital and interactive applications throughout the pavilion introduce Expo 2020 attendees to the richness of Turkey’s culture — all in a modern, inviting, technological, and environmentally friendly structure with world-famous Turkish hospitality.
