The design of the Thailand Pavilion, the nation’s largest Expo presence since its first pavilion 150 years ago, integrates the allure of Thai hospitality into every element, starting with its façade of 500 LED flowers that are part of a nightly light and sound show. And every day, the plaza in front of the pavilion comes to life with performances showcasing various aspects of Thai culture along with artful collaborations with other nations. To date, Australia, Vietnam, Iran, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, Botswana, the Republic of Korea, and many more have joined in for lively music jam sessions. The shows reflect the variety and diversity of the country, fusing past and present customs of Thailand in spectacular fashion with performances paying homage to Muay Thai boxing, live music, the UNESCO World Heritage-recognized Khon royal masked dance. These powerful and moving performances transports visitors to Thailand and leave them desperate for a real taste of the country.
To reflect Thailand’s mobile and flexible nature, the pavilion combines traditions customs with innovative, sustainable technologies to create a better standard of living and make the country an even more appealing destination for businesses and tourists. The aim is to bring share nation’s technological progress with the world while also remaining true to the country’s “Thai DNA” founded in hospitality and approachability. And to connect Thailand to the rest of the world, the pavilion aims to showcase the full wonder of authentic Thai food and products. Thailand is perhaps most famous for its vibrant and aromatic cuisine, and mealtimes at the Thailand Pavilion are a momentous occasion.
