Over-Easy Designs
You don't need a double-deck structure to make the most of your stand's overhead space. In fact, you can create dramatic, eye-catching elements via a comparatively lightweight exhibit medium: fabric. Find inspiration among these six exhibitors that used suspended fabric structures and full-on ceilings to create inventive and attractive lures. By Linda Armstrong

Ticking all the Boxes
Exhibitor: Global Experience Specialists Inc. (GES)
Show: EuroShop
Design: Global Experience Specialists Inc. (GES), Coventry, United Kingdom, 44-2476-380-000, www.ges.com

Overhead fabric elements aren't just eye candy; they're also huge messaging opportunities. Global Experience Specialists Inc. took full advantage of that fact by covering the interior and exterior panels of this suspended fabric box with on-brand verbiage and images.

Winner's Circle
Exhibitor: Outsell Inc.
Show: National Automobile Dealers Association Show
Design: Hill & Partners, Weymouth, MA, 617-471-7990, www.hillpartners.com

How do you create a major impact in a 30-by-30-foot space? If you're Outsell Inc., you suspend a 30-foot-diameter canopy. Featuring little more than the company's name and logo and a secondary blue ring, this fabric creation transformed a modest footprint into a massive presence.

Double Take
Exhibitor: Glen Raven Inc.
Show: Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) Expo
Design: MC2, an MCH company, Chestnut Ridge, NY, 800-537-8073, www.mc-2.com

Doubling as an attention-getter and a product display, this ceiling for Glen Raven Inc.'s Sunbrella fabrics comprised a glossy-white framework and two applications of its textiles. While a gray-and-white material offered a traditional touch, an orange 3-D arrangement added skyward appeal.

Pull a Fast One
Exhibitor: Alliance Tire Group
Show: Specialty Equipment Market Association
Design: Hill & Partners, Weymouth, MA, 617-471-7990, www.hillpartners.com

Part overhead element and part head-turning product display, this design for Alliance Tire Group comprised a modified tractor-pull vehicle that had seemingly soared up, over, and into the exhibit through a fabric ring – a 30-foot-diameter structure that designers tilted 20 degrees.

Jet-Setter
Exhibitor: Ujet S.A.
Show: International Consumer Electronics Show
Design: Framework Design GmbH, Leiwen, Germany, 49-6507-9354-870, www.frameworkdesign.de

Completely framing the lower-level footprint, this mammoth fabric box lured attendees with exterior graphic images of Ujet S.A.'s namesake smart scooter. Meanwhile, the interior of the rigged element acted as a 360-degree projection screen for product-related images and messaging.

Green Scene
Exhibitor: Ribbon Communications Inc. (formerly Sonus Networks Inc.)
Show: Mobile World Congress
Design: 3D Exhibits Inc., Schaumburg, IL, 800-471-9617, www.3dexhibits.com

The Sonus brand utilized a triangular-shaped overhead structure – which was inset with an internally lit, logo-adorned fabric cylinder – to brand the space, capture the eye, and generate awareness despite a narrow footprint.
