Session 2023
Crash Course: What You Need to Know About Trade Show Shipping
What should you do if your booth gets lost in transit to a show? What if it comes back from the show damaged? Have you ever received a surprise fee on your transportation or drayage invoice? In this session, attendees will learn the basics of domestic trade show shipping, including how to reduce your shipping budget and plan for emergencies. You'll walk away with a concrete list of steps you can take to protect your marketing assets. Additionally, this session will review current market trends related to freight transportation and how they may play a role in your event budget and planning. We'll share case studies, discuss real-world emergencies, and view instructional videos that provide best practices in domestic trade show logistics and planning.
Learning Objectives:
•  Identify the variables that make trade show shipping different from shipping other types of goods.
•  Explore best practices in event shipping documentation.
•  Discuss the liability limitations of general service contractors and logistics providers.
•  Analyze different insurance coverage options available for asset protection.
•  Examine the current state of the transportation industry and its potential impacts on service and cost.
•  Develop action steps to enhance your event shipping strategy.

CTSM Candidates with 5 or more years of experience may take this session in place of certain CTSM required sessions, with prior approval.

Attendance for the full session is required for those who wish to count this session towards the CTSM certification program.

This session is SOLD OUT.
