Russia, Lithuania, and the PhilippinesOur last day in South Korea was spent touring the remaining international pavilions, the Marine Civilizations Pavilion, the Marine Robot Pavilion, and a clever little corporate pavilion for Naver. Australia, USA, and SpainWe spent our day visiting more of the international pavilions, as well as the Theme Pavilion and the Ocean and Coast Best Practice Area. But the highlight of our night was the Big-O show, a mind-blowing multimedia presentation on the world’s largest water screen, complete with lasers, projection, pyrotechnics, and a guy who looks an awful lot like Obi Wan Kenobi. more... The Corporate PavilionsIn many ways, the stars of Expo 2012 are the corporate pavilions. These seven freestanding structures represent a variety of companies, from well-known electronics brands Samsung and LG to auto giant Hyundai to Korean energy firm GS Caltex and more. Adventures in Architecture

But both are far more than simply stunning structures — they’re also full of cutting-edge eco-friendly design principles that not only decrease their carbon footprint, but (in the case of the Korea Pavilion) actually make the building “carbon negative,” meaning it takes more CO2 out of the atmosphere than it produces.
