EuroShop Announces EuroCIS Forum Program

Over the past few years EuroCIS has developed into Europe’s leading specialist trade fair for IT and security in retail. This year, EuroCIS will again be one of the four segments of EuroShop, The Global Retail Trade Fair (in the non-EuroShop years, EuroCIS takes places as an independent trade fair). From February 26 - March 2, 2011, over 2,000 exhibitors from 52 countries and about 100,000 visitors from the global retail sector are expected at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The EuroShop 2011 segment EuroCIS will feature leading international IT and security suppliers with their latest products and solutions for the retail industry, while the EuroCIS Forum will offer an extensive range of lectures on best-practice examples. The EuroCIS Forum will be held on February 28 and March 1 from 10:30 am – 5:30 pm and on March 2 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm in Hall 6.  The Forum will be free of charge for all attendees, and the lectures will be simultaneously translated into German/English. The complete EuroCIS Forum program is online at www.euroshop-tradefair.com.

The lectures for the EuroCIS Forum were submitted by exhibitors and their customers and selected according to topic by the experts from the EHI Retail Institute. A special highlight will be the lecture “Smart Supply Chain through Smart Solutions” by Thomas Brokop, head of organisation at Runners Point. The company operates over 150 stores worldwide and announced that it will introduce completely new processes to optimize merchandise flow. “Apps as Mobile In-Store Solutions – Order Management using iPad & Co” will be the topic of the presentation by Birgit Nieschalk, Business Development, SALT Solutions GmbH. For practical day-to-day operations, the lecture on “Value Added by RFID at s.Oliver” co-presented by Patrick Szostak, project manager at s. Oliver; Martin Gliesche, senior consultant at Tailorit; and Dirk Tschierschke, senior partner at Gebit Solutions, is on the agenda.

The highlight of the EuroCIS ancillary program will be the presentation of the prestigious Retail Technology Awards Europe (RETA). The EHI Retail Institute will award the “RETA Europe Awards” to outstanding IT solutions in retail. Since the premiere at EuroShop 2008, EHI has presented the RETA Europe Awards annually either during EuroShop or EuroCIS to honor outstanding and innovative solutions in retail. The 2011 RETA Europe Awards will be presented on February 27, at 7:00 pm, in the Capitol Theater Düsseldorf (by invitation only).
