Visit Seattle Announces Parvaneh Miller as Director, International Tourism
Visit Seattle welcomes Parvaneh “Parv” Miller as Director, International Tourism, effective September 16, 2019. In this role, Miller will oversee Visit Seattle’s International Tourism efforts. This includes managing four staff in Seattle and the organization’s seven in-market agencies in Europe, Asia and Australia. Miller’s leadership of the department will support Visit Seattle’s objective of growing international and overseas visitation, which has been the destination’s fastest growing segment of business in recent years.
With more than a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, Miller most recently served as the Director of Sales & Marketing at Loews Hotel 1000 in Seattle, and the Director of Sales, Events & Marketing at Andaz Wall Street, a Hyatt Hotel. A Washington State native, much of Miller’s industry experience has been with Hyatt hotels, with time spent in San Diego, Savannah and New York City before returning to Seattle to join the Loews family.
“We are very excited to welcome Parv to Visit Seattle and I know we’ll benefit greatly from her proven leadership abilities,” said John Boesche, Vice President, International Tourism at Visit Seattle. “Her familiarity in the Seattle market and with the work we do at Visit Seattle will allow her to step in and quickly support our focus of growing visitation from key visitor markets around the world.”
Miller joins Visit Seattle as the organization prepares to host the 2019 U.S.—China Tourism Leadership Summit, September 17-21. Visit Seattle will co-host the Summit with Brand USA and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China. Nearly 30 government, provincial, and tourism officials from China – and over 100 travel and tourism industry leaders from across the U.S. – will convene in Seattle for three days of bilateral meetings, events and destination experiences.
Miller holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Washington State University. Outside her professional life, she enjoys volunteering at humane societies and spending time with her husband, Andy, young daughter, Charlotte, and their 85-pound dog, Homer.
