BPA Worldwide Announces Results of CES 2019 Event Audit
BPA Worldwide has announced the results of the CES 2019 event audit engagement with a grand total 175,212 unique visitors and exhibiting staff in attendance during the four-day event. Held January 8-11, 2019, in Las Vegas, BPA provided independent verification of the event’s audience data. BPA will also assist CES with the process of becoming an UFI Approved Event and an IAEE Certified Exhibition.
According to the BPA report, the CES show welcomed a total of 100,783 industry attendees; 68,064 exhibitor personnel and 6,365 members of the media. Some of the top industries represented by attendees included manufacturing (11,701); engineering/R&D (8,375); advertising & marketing (6,904) and software development/publishing (5,339).
Top industry attendee job titles were director/senior manager/GM (19,381); president/founder (15,720); VP/Senior VP/Executive VP (11,715) and engineer (8,041).
“We are excited to have been chosen to be a part of such a prestigious event that is recognized around the world,” said BPA President and CEO Glenn Hansen. “The BPA event audit is a guarantee to CES exhibitors, sponsors and other stakeholders that they are getting an accurate view of all markets represented. It proves the quality of the audience, and provides additional transparency to the show’s existing and prospective exhibitors.”
Hansen added that BPA also provides the independent audit for CES Asia in Shanghai, China, and will again verify that show’s audience in 2019. The 2018 CES Asia event boasted 46,748 in total unique attendance last year, including 42,260 domestic and 4,488 international visitors.
As part of the audit process, a BPA team of auditors were on site for the entirety of CES 2019, and verified registration and attendance procedures at all event locations, including Las Vegas Convention Center, Sands Expo, Venetian, Westgate, Aria, Mandalay Bay and other remote locations. BPA also checked the gross and net exhibition space.
According to Hansen, exhibitors can use the BPA third-party event audit report as a metric to measure against ROI/ROO goals for the show and help justify why attending a particular show would be a benefit to a company. The report can also be utilized to logistically prepare for the next show and know how many staff and booth size will be required to accommodate their target audience. Lastly, Hansen pointed out that the data found on the event audit report can serve as the basis for any research done for a particular show. “Research is only as good as the data it is built upon,” he concluded.
CES 2020 is scheduled to take place January 7-10, 2020.
