3/4/2010
-
Maureen Siman, vice president of Marketing for the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority (ACCVA), has been selected as the 2010 Business Woman of the Year by the Greater Atlantic City Chamber. She will receive her award at the 42nd annual Business Man and Business Woman of the Year celebration on Wednesday, April 28, at the Tiara Ballroom at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.
“I am not only humbled to be recognized by the Chamber, but I am honored at the privilege of being mentioned among the great community leaders who have received this award in the past,” said Siman. “However, the real hero and the ones who deserve the most recognition are Ray Kot and his family.”
The Businessman of the Year award will be presented to the family of Ray Kot in memoriam. Kot was a dedicated Trump Entertainment Resorts employee until his death in 2009, working at Trump Taj Mahal since it opened in 1990.
Siman has led the Authority’s Communications, Media Relations, E-marketing, Graphic Services, Marketing Partnership, and Tourism marketing departments since joining the ACCVA in 2006. Prior to her appointment at the ACCVA, Siman served as assistant vice president of Media Services and Government Relations for the Tropicana Casino & Resort.
An active community leader, Siman sits on the AtlantiCare Foundation Board, the board of the National Council of Destination Organizations, and is an active board member of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children), among others.
Selections are based upon the nominee’s business accomplishments, length of time in business and quality of product or service. Additional criteria include the nominee’s contributions to the Atlantic City region business environment, and the nominee’s community activities and civic contributions.
