mdg Expands Leadership Team
Leading event marketing agency mdg has promoted Chicago-based Leana Salamah and Atlanta-based Jacquelyn Wells into vice president roles, effective immediately. Their paths into the elevated positions have been distinctly different, but the two women share similar competencies in relation to strategic planning and marketing execution, as well as a demonstrated dedication to advancing mdg and the employees and clients it represents.
“The move is part of an ongoing strategy to further strengthen the leadership infrastructure of an agency that is not only growing, but is evolving drastically to meet the changing needs of the clients,” says mdg principal Vincent Polito. “By elevating these two event marketing experts into executive leadership, we’re ensuring they have the authority, autonomy and accountability for the continued success of the agency—both holistically and in regards to the clients it serves.”
With 20 years of marketing experience in both the agency and nonprofit environment, Salamah was hired in 2017 to open and develop mdg’s Chicago office. She serves clients such as AAPEX, BAI and ISSA and is also leading the agency’s data marketing initiative. With a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and English Literature as well as a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communication, Leana is known for her ability to help build strategies that capitalize on market opportunities and align with audience motivations. Her strengths include branding, digital communications and data-driven campaigns. Prior to joining mdg, Leana held a senior marketing position at the National Restaurant Association.
Jacquelyn Wells joined mdg in 2007 as a member of the account services team. She’s since earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of San Diego and has been instrumental in driving and managing the agency’s exponential growth. In her current role, she consults directly for and leads teams serving event clients in myriad industries, from food and beverage to technology to healthcare and more. Specifically, she has developed campaigns to acquire, engage and retain attendees for clients such as the International Baking Industry Exposition, AUVSI XPONENTIAL and World of Concrete. Jacquelyn has lived, studied and worked overseas and is currently leading an initiative to streamline the onboarding and training of new agency employees.
“In addition to helping their clients achieve numerous successes, both of these talented women are building and developing teams that are transforming the very nature of the agency,” says Kimberly Hardcastle-Geddes, mdg president. “They are staffing the agency with marketing strategists who have advanced skills in digital, social media, research, database development and more. We are excited not only about what they’ve done, but what they will continue to do for the agency and its clients.”
mdg is a results-driven, award-winning agency with offices in San Diego, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia.
