ICCA Names Quito Top 10 MICE Destination in LATAM
The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), has named Quito as one of the top 10 cities in South America for hosting the highest number of international meetings and conventions in 2015. The entity is recognized as the most resilient and dynamic sector of the MICE industry and serves as the global community and knowledge hub for the international association meetings industry which has become one of the most significant entities in attracting international events.
In 2014, Quito was ranked number 12 in while in 2015 the city rose to number 10 for having hosted 30 international events of great significance. Amongst these events are The Latin American Meeting of Graduates of Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Cuba, Pan American Day of Medical Technology, Iberoamerican Congress of Computer Security - CIBSI - Convention of Spanish-speaking vascular surgeons, Conference of the Americas on International Education - CAIE- and the International Comparative Policy Analysis Forum Workshop - ICPA.

Quito’s objective for the coming years is to continue to rise in the scale and position the city within the first places in the ranking; this goal will be achieved by the joint work of all the sectors involved and the strategic alliances with in the public-private sector.
- Event duration minimum of 3 days.
- Rotation of the event by other destinations.
- A quorum of at least 50 international participants.
- Realization of the event by professional associations.
